How we use data from Facebook and Messenger

Our Facebook app is called AutoReply Assistant. We act as a service provider for the business that owns the Facebook Page. This page explains in plain language what we receive and what we do with it.

What we receive

  • Messages that customers send to a connected Page in Messenger, and the replies sent from the Page.
  • The customer's public Messenger name and profile picture.
  • The name and ID of the connected Page, and the list of Pages an admin chooses to share with us during connection.

What we use it for

  • Showing conversations to the Page owner's support agents in the shared inbox.
  • Sending replies to the customer in Messenger, written by an agent or by the automated assistant.
  • Recording service requests that the customer asks us to record.
  • Reports for the Page owner about their own conversations.

What we never do

  • We do not sell data from Facebook or Messenger.
  • We do not share it with third parties, except service providers that host or process it for us under the same limits.
  • We do not use it for advertising or to build profiles of people.
  • We do not use one client's conversations to serve another client.

Where it is kept

Conversations are stored on a server that we operate, reached only over an encrypted connection. Access is limited to the Page owner's agents and to our staff who maintain the service.

Disconnecting and deletion

A Page owner can disconnect their Page at any time from Facebook's Business Integrations settings or by asking us. Customers and Page owners can ask us to delete their data. See data deletion and our privacy policy.
